SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

"The brain is a world consisting of a number of unexplored continents and great stretches of unknown territory." - Ramón y Cajal. Although Cajal's statement seems to still resonate in the 21st century, I believe that the scientific community has made significant advances in our understanding of the human brain. In the near future I would like to utilize the opportunities and modern techniques available to me to study model organisms of human neuropathology and neurodegenerative diseases.
