SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I have always believed that mental disorders like suicidal instincts, bipolar, schizophrenia etc. may not solely be due to the traumatic experiences of life. Sometimes, even a person with a perfect life may suffer from them, with no apparent reason to offer to the psychiatrists or counselors. Gradually, as I steered myself into Neuroscience during my bachelors and masters, I realized that the developmental errors, if not genetic ones, can be responsible for these disorders. The trivial defects during the brain development, the neuronal migration and connectivity may contribute to the mental disturbances with trauma acting as a trigger. So, I want to work on a field that helps me to substantiate my hypothesis. I would like to make a bridge to join Neuroscience with Psychology and Psychiatry, though they are now categorized into Biology, Humanities and Medicine respectively.
