SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am interested in finding basic principles that underlie the functions of the nervous system. Examining species with comparable simple nervous systems might help to find and understand those principles. In applying them to more complex systems, one might be able to understand how a brain is able to recognize, memorize, learn and think.
