SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS
I am deeply interested in gene regulation and RNA biology, particularly in how these mechanisms orchestrate vital physiological processes. The idea that complex biological phenomena exhibited by a diverse range of organisms could be simplified to the actions of unruly polynucleotides, interacting with proteins and each other, fascinates me. Having a foundation in statistics, I am keen to integrate quantitative approaches with wet lab experimentation to get a comprehensive model of cellular processes. My goal is to use this combinatorial approach to help understand the story of life through the lens of genetics and use it to devise therapeutic approaches for prevalent diseases.
