SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Over the past years, I have fostered a strong interest in neurodegenerative diseases and their respective pathomechanisms, which I pursued during my bachelor’s thesis. While the topic still fascinates me deeply, especially prions and prion-like protein aggregation, my current aim is to acquire a broader knowledge on alternative approaches, such as mathematical, bioinformatical and synthetic biology approaches. Furthermore, I am interested in becoming familiar with a broader range of model organisms, such as algae, fungi and bacteria, and how these organisms can help elucidate molecular strategies and mechanisms.
