SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I have always been fascinated by the enormous capabilities of the human brain and how they change throughout life, from learning in childhood to the progressive loss of these abilities in old age. My current scientific interests are in the field of neuroscience. I am particularly interested in studying the molecular basis of increasingly common neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, the mechanisms that enable learning and memory, as well as studying conditions such as autism and depression.
