SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My scientific interests stem from the intersection of molecular biology, genetics, and neurobiology. Particularly, I am interested in how genetic and molecular mechanisms regulate neural development and function, and how their dysfunction leads to disease. Mechanistic questions regarding multi-level regulation of gene expression, intracellular signaling cascades, and their time and cell type dependent control that together give rise to complex neural systems, drive my interest in research. I aim to pursue research that combines genetic, molecular, and cellular approaches to investigate neural development, function, and pathology. I am also willing to explore new perspectives as my research direction leads me.
