SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My primary scientific interest is understanding the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and why certain neuronal populations become particularly vulnerable to degradation. I am fascinated by how different forms of cellular stress interact with our body and influence neuronal function and vulnerability. The diverse and often unpredictable nature of neurodegenerative diseases, together with their significant and devastating impact on patients and their families, motivates my interest in contributing to the field. In particular, I hope to contribute to research aimed at identifying reliable biomarkers for early and accurate diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases, enabling earlier intervention and better patient outcomes.
