Davide Mattioli

PhD Researcher in AI for Remote Sensing

I work on artificial intelligence for remote sensing and Earth observation, with a focus on deep learning, computer vision, and geospatial data. My research investigates how modern machine-learning methods can be adapted and translated into reliable applications for Earth observation and remote sensing.

I am also interested in the computational side of machine learning, particularly high-performance computing, GPU-based workflows, scalable data processing, and the infrastructure needed to work with large Earth observation datasets.

Currently Working on:

  • Multiangular UAS Data for Sugarbeets Diesease preventio
  • Foundation Models applciation in EO
  • Embeddings Quantization

Research

  • Deep Learning for Earth Observation –  Computer vision methods for aerial, UAS,multiangular,  multispectral, and other remote sensing imagery
  • Foundation Models - Adapting and evaluating modern vision models for geospatial applications
  • Scalable Machine Learning – HPC, GPU computing, SLURM, parallel processing, and scalable workflows for large geospatial datasets.
