Research Brief
I obtained my PhD in Biology at the Max Planck Institute for Biology Tübingen, where I studied 3D genome organization in brown algae. This work sparked my interest in how regulatory mechanisms evolve across diverse lineages.
I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Jan de Vries at the University of Göttingen, studying streptophyte algae, the closest algal relatives of land plants. Using genetic and molecular approaches, I investigate how these algae regulate their growth and physiology in response to environmental cues associated with terrestrial habitats. My research aims to understand the evolutionary mechanisms that contributed to plant adaptation to life on land.
