Knowledge and Technology Transfer
It is our goal to support the development of innovative products and services and access to new findings. To this end, we build bridges between academia, business and society.
As an interface to our University-owned patent brokerage firm MBM ScienceBridge GmbH, we raise awareness of issues regarding industrial property rights and support, among other things, spin-offs in the implementation process. The University regularly presents current research results at the Hanover Fair, at Agritechnica etc. We help you plan and carry out your trade-fair . From application-oriented theses, technology consulting and entrepreneurship education to long-term research cooperation: the large-scale regional SNIC project strengthens the role of regional universities as drivers of innovation.
The BMWi (German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) programme promotes the development of innovations and their rapid introduction into the market. The University manages a network of 19 universities and research facilities in Lower Saxony. Have you ever considered becoming a mentor or making private investments in young companies? We would like to expand the support network for early-career researchers. Golden Age University (UDL) enables adults aged 50 and over to continue their education in an academic setting without the prerequisite of a specific school-leaving certificate. Sign up now! As educational institutions of the University of Göttingen, the student and teacher laboratories XLAB and YLAB sit at the interface of school and university with their focus on the natural sciences and humanities, respectively, offering young people the opportunity to gain experience by researching, touching, trying out and understanding.
How is knowledge created? How is it changed, expanded and why is it lost?
- We want to know! Therefore, we are conceptualising and building the Forum Wissen in the former Institute of Zoology at the Göttingen railway station. Would you like to join us? Alumni Göttingen connects more than 30,000 alumni and graduates with the people who study, research and work at the University of Göttingen today. We are a lively, learning network!
We offer information about the potential of the University of Göttingen and the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) and establish contact between companies and our scholars and scientists. We connect brilliant minds!
However, knowledge transfer at the University of Göttingen/UMG and on the Göttingen campus does not only take place at the interface between academia and industry. Citizens, students, employees and alumni also impart knowledge and learn from each other.
