SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

As I learned a lot about proteins and their structures during my recent studies as Bioinformatician, I am intrigued by the study of brain functions at the molecular level, especially in the process of learning. It is very interesting to me how memories are stored in the brain and how one can access those memories. Which proteins are needed to form a valid memory and how can one provide the cells with those proteins? Which molecules are necessary for the priming process? In addition, I am interested in neurodegenerative diseases, like Alzheimer's Disease, and the reasons for the loss of memory on the molecular level.
