Collaborative Research Centres

Collaborative Research Centres are institutions established at the university for a period of up to 12 years that enable researchers to pursue an outstanding research programme, crossing the boundaries of disciplines, institutes, departments and faculties. This allows scientists to work in interdisciplinary contexts. An application for a collaborative research centre must meet very high scientific standards; once approved, however, research centers provide a framework for demanding, complex and long-term research agendas by concentrating and coordinating a university´s research potential. Training and integrating young researchers in such projects is an important facet of this tool.
