SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

You may get the definitive answer about the function or the mechanism of action of a certain protein after you solve its structure. I am particularly interested in: (1) the problem of protein folding and misfolding and the control of these processes at the cellular level, (2) the structure of membrane proteins (especially those of clinical relevance), (3) intrinsically disordered proteins, and (4) structure-based drug design.
