SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My interest in the Neurosciences field arose from my fascination for Psychiatry. How exactly can we approach non-tangible facets of our nervous systems, such as our minds? Which intricate neural mechanisms are jeopardized when socially acceptable human behavior becomes inadequate? By addressing these questions, we may be able to better understand the common aspects implicated in the brain-mind confluence. My long term goal is to further investigate the associations between brain circuitry and neurochemical signaling malfunction and the outcomes of mental illnesses.
