SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am interested in human microbiome and its impact on our health and wellbeing. Recent discoveries suggest its profound role in gut functioning, immune system development and gut-brain axis, that may even influence people's mood and decision-making. Assessing this impact is a technically tough problem, that, I believe, may be approached using modern sequencing technologies and powerful computational resources. Shedding light on these topics may change our view of how the human body works and even what it actually means to be a human.
