SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Currently my scientific interest mostly focuses on the use of knowledge acquired through molecular biology in medicine. I am intrigued by the molecular basis of cancer, above all the epigenetic functions of proteins as well as the role of non-coding nucleic acids such as miRNA and lncRNA in carcinogenesis. Furthermore, my interests also lie in immunology, particularly in the development of immunotherapy and I am very excited about exploring the unknown details of immune mechanisms. Being enrolled in the Molecular Biology Program I hope not only to expand my knowledge in these areas, but I am looking forward to gain insight into fields I am not familiar with. Ultimately, I would like to narrow my interests in order to focus on a particular research topic and dedicate myself to projects aiming to contribute to the development of medicine for a future patient’s benefit.
