SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I am very intrigued by the role that epigenetics, genetic regulation and cell signaling play in development and disease, and by the evolutionary mechanisms through which these processes arise and evolve. I believe that a clearer picture of molecular evolutionary mechanisms can help us to build more efficient biotechnological tools, develop more personalized therapies and make it easier to manipulate cells and biomolecules.
