Informationsveranstaltung Jessup Moot Court 2022/2023

Dear Students,

the Göttingen team of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court would like to invite you to an introductory evening on 07.06.2022 and 04.07.2022 at 6pm in the Seminar Room on the 13th floor (or parallel on Zoom). You can already access the introductory Powerpoint here.


Every year, the Jessup Moot Court deals with exciting and topical questions of international law. This year, the Moot Court will focus on the Ukraine conflict. The official topics are:
1. interpretation of a peace treaty
2. deadly attacks in allegedly occupied territory
3. unilateral economic sanctions
4. failure to dispose of hazardous waste material


The Moot Court offers you the unique opportunity to spend a semester in the role of a lawyer for one semester and to work on a fictitious dispute before the International Court of Justice, draft pleadings and present them to a bench of highly qualified judges. In addition, as part of the Jessup you can obtain the language certificate and the and the key qualification certificate, as well as a preparatory performance or write a study or seminar paper.
