SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

Through this program, I hope to get further insights into my current areas of interest such as developmental biology and cell biology. I would like to integrate knowledge from various fields and focus on the influence of temporal and spatial cues on the fate of cells, how gene expression and signal transduction direct the distinct processes of development such as morphogenesis, and how the behavior of cells at the molecular level contributes to the development from a cell to a multicellular organism. Nevertheless, I am open for discovering other fields of life sciences. The diversity of different branches in biology and how the boundaries between different specialties are constantly being blurred is what biological research truly fascinates me.
