Research Interests

I am interested in the evolution of life including the earliest organic biosignatures using geobiology, biogeochemistry, and geochemistry methods. In my doctoral thesis, I focus on Archean biosignatures (kerogen) in barites from the Pilbara Craton, Western Australia. In addition, I am working on hydrothermal maturation experiments testing the preservation of organic matter with varying mineral matrices. Therefore, I am using technics like gas chromatography coupled-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), catalytic hydropyrolysis (HyPy) and scanning electron microscope (SEM).
