SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

I have always been curious about understanding the mechanisms which underlie human disease. I feel fascinated about being able to elucidate the molecular basis of diseases towards not only the development of new therapeutic strategies but also for the discovery of new biomarkers for early diagnosis and personalized treatment. I have been particularly concerned about cancer and especially interested in the behavior of the tumor microenvironment and the immune surveillance. However, I am also looking forward to exploring other different medically relevant fields of my interest, in order to discover which one I may focus on during my upcoming scientific career.
