Precision mechanics

In precision mechanics, the detailed test set-ups designed in the drawing office are realised. Often in close co-operation with the metalworking shop.

These are currently mainly

  • Positioning devices for laser, gamma, neutron and X-ray radiation
  • Vacuum receivers with the required feed-throughs and positioning
  • High-pressure autoclaves and pressure intensifiers up to 7000 bar (motorised screw presses)

Many of these computer-controlled test set-ups require close co-operation between precision mechanics and electronics. Stepper motors or other actuators with the associated control and testing equipment are very often integrated into the mechanical components. Before leaving the workshop, the vacuum recipients and components are tested for the required tightness using a high-vacuum test bench as standard.

Precision mechanical production is carried out on both conventional and CNC machines. We also achieve great diversity and flexibility in production with the existing surface grinding and die-sinking EDM machines. A precision measuring room is also available for checking production tolerances.

Repair and maintenance work is also carried out by the precision mechanics department. The 3-stage high-pressure compressor systems (3000 bar final pressure) from Hofer and various high-pressure compressors from Nova-Swiss (1000 to 3000 bar final pressure) should be mentioned here.
