Private broadcasting

Private media companies are financed through web revenues. Several thousand German-language television and radio stations can be access – some nationwide, some regionally. Most of the programmes can also be accessed online via streaming or downloaded.

German newspapers and magazines are published either regionally or nationally. Large national newspapers and magazines in particular play a major role in shaping the country’s political discourse. We have compiled a selection for you here:
