(Copyright: Göttingen Tourismus e.V.)

You can reach Göttingen best by train, where international travellers can choose the airports of Hanover, Berlin and Frankfurt (Frankfurt International, not to be confused with Frankfurt Hahn) as a flight destination.

From Hanover airport, travellers to Göttingen need to take the suburban train to Hanover central station and from there, a short-distance train ("metronom") or long-distance train ("Inter City Express" ICE) to Göttingen station, both of which take approx. 1 hour.

From Frankfurt International or Berlin, the fastest way of travelling is by ICE, which takes approx. 2:30 hrs.

A detailed schedule for train connections is available on the website of the German Railway (Deutsche Bahn).

From Göttingen station, most of the hotels can be reached by foot.
