SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS AND GOALS

My research interest in neuroscience can be categorized into 2 topics: 1. To understand the following aspects which are related to brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases (i.e. what governs the lifespan of our brains): i) How to make brain immortal. ii) How to keep brain functional ex vivo (i.e. how to culture a whole brain per se) and to achieve brain transplantation in live animal. iii) The role of protein aggregates in neurodegenerative disease. iv) How to regenerate degenerated brain. 2. To elucidate the following aspects which are related to memory in a molecular biology point of view: i) To identify the genetic and acquired factors influencing the quality of memory. ii) How to manipulate existing memory. iii) How to clone memory. iv) What is memory?
