However one views it, the US is one of the largest countries in the world in terms of both area and population and has a long history of immigration, making it a very diverse country where people of many backgrounds come together. The University of Göttingen has three partner institutions in the US, two of which are connected with foreign language teaching assistant programmes.
Exchange Possibilities to the USA
Amherst College, Amherst, MAA classic New England liberal arts college, Amherst College is located in Massachussetts. Students selected for the exchange at Amherst College go for a full academic year and work part time as language teaching assistants (Deutsch als Fremdsprache) for the German Department. In addition, they enroll in 2 classes per semester.
