Further Academic Education for Older Individuals

Since 1995 the University of the Third Age Göttingen (UDL) organises the further academic education of older individuals, initially as part of the ‘Altenakademie’ [academy for older individuals] and since the winter semester 2001/2002 as non-profit association. The UDL is a contractual cooperative partner of the Göttingen University. It is aimed at people over 50 with and without Abitur [high school leaving certificate] who are interested in the teaching and research at the University of Göttingen and would like to commence an open course of studies. In the winter semester 2007/2008 over 500 individuals between 50 and 90 years made use of the range of courses offered by the University of the Third Age.
