Re-registration (required for every following semester)


If you would like to continue your current course of studies in Göttingen, you must either re-register on time and pay the semester fees or apply for a leave of abscene for every following semester. On a leave of abscene a part of the fee may have to be paid regardless.

Payment of semester fees

The easiest way to do this is to use the self-service functions (direct account debit). After successful activation of the direct debit, you will be immediately re-registered for the following semester. Then you can print out all the certifications you need using the self-service functions and prolong the validity period printed on your student identification card at one of the self-service terminals at Göttingen University.

You may also remit the fees by bank transfer. In this case, the certificates for the current semester will be active after seven working days. From then on you can also have the current validity period printed on your student identification card at one of the self-service terminals.

Leave of abscene

The leave of absence must be applied for in writing. You can find all steps in the right column.

If you have already re-registered and confirmed your enrollment you can still apply for a leave abscene until one month after the start of lectures

Deadlines

  • 1 June - 31 July for the following winter semester
  • 1 December - 31 January for the following summer semester
