The group of Prof. Dr. Ulf Diederichsen at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Georg-August Universität Göttingen welcomes applications for a

Ph.D. position (all genders welcome)

within the Center for Biostructural Imaging of Neurodegeneration of the University Medical Center Göttingen. The position is remunerated with 50 % E 13 TV-L with a limited contract of 3 years. The earliest starting date will be 01.01.2020.

Your Profile
- you hold (or are in the process of concluding) a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medicinal Chemistry or an equivalent degree in Pharmacy
- you are proficient in English,
- you are experienced in fields of medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, bioorganic chemistry and organic synthesis
- you have a solid background in organic chemistry, bioorganic chemistry and relevant spectroscopic methods.
Experience in pharmacology and background in medicinal chemistry is advantageous.

The successful applicant will be involved in a project performed at the Center for Biostructural Imaging of Neurodegeneration. The project aims at semisynthetic prion protein (PrP) variants with posttranslational modifications.

We will provide a stimulating research environment in a diverse and interdisciplinary team as well as first-class facilities. The Ph.D. students are integrated in the graduate program of the Georg-August University School of Science (GAUSS). In addition, the Center for Biostructural Imaging of Neurodegeneration provides a wide variety of additional interdisciplinary activities.
