Campus Laboratory for Advanced Imaging, Microscopy and Spectroscopy
The Campus Laboratory for Advanced Imaging, Microscopy and Spectroscopy (AIMS) is dedicated to substantial method development in the following key research areas: optical nanoscopy and single molecule spectroscopy, x-ray microscopy and short pulse x-ray physics, advanced electron microscopy and tomography including ultra-fast and high-resolution in-situ capabilities, magnetic resonance spectroscopy (nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), electron spin resonance (ESR)), x-ray phase contrast tomography for biomedical imaging, as well as further advanced imaging techniques.
The Campus Laboratory AIMS is currently in the formation phase towards an interdisciplinary centre pushing advancements in physical and physio-chemical analytical techniques. While external collaborations and a user program will be strongly supported, AIMS members are leading core projects, bringing together the following participating institutions: Faculty of Physics, Faculty for Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Biology and Psychology, Faculty of Chemistry, Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry (MPI BPC), Max Planck Institute of Experimental Medicine (MPI EM), University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), German Primate Center (DPZ), Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen (DZNE), Laser-Laboratorium Göttingen e.V. (LLG), and Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY).
