Biological membranes are composed of a highly diverse and dynamic lipid composition, which is a prerequisite for all processes of life like growth, signal perception, compound exchange, and adaption to the environment.
We developed a lipidomics platform, which facilitates enhanced selectivity and coverage for 35 lipid classes and the corresponding lipid species. The platform includes single monophasic extraction, sequential ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) separations, nanoelectrospray ionization (nanoESI), triple quadrupole/ion trap (QTrap)-based mass spectrometry and systematic workflows for unbiased, standardized and expedited data handling.
