Biological membranes are composed of a highly diverse and dynamic lipid composition, which is a prerequisite for all processes of life like growth, signal perception, compound exchange, and adaption to the environment.
We developed a liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS) based lipidomics platform, which facilitates enhanced selectivity and coverage for 35 lipid classes and the corresponding lipid species. The platform includes single mono-phasic extraction, sequential Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) separations, Triple Quadrupole/Ion Trap (QTrap) based mass spectrometry and systematic workflows for unbiased, standardized and expedited data handling.
