In publica commoda

At the Faculty of Chemistry of the Georg-August-University of Göttingen a time-limited position (BAT I b) for young academics, that will lead to an appointment as

Junior Professor

is to be appointed as soon as possible in the field of:

Physical Chemistry

Research should emphasize on infrared spectroscopy of intermolecular interactions. Experience in the construction of modern spectroscopic instruments is essential. Complementary knowledge in theory and computer simulation is desirable. Participation in one of the Collaborative Research Centers (SFBs) 357 and 1871 or in the new Graduate School (Graduiertenkolleg GRK 782) and the establishment of cooperation with the industry is welcome. Sharing of available equipment at the institute is possible.

The teaching duties will cover Physical Chemistry including academic examinations (diploma, thesis, etc.). Participation in chemistry teaching for other departments is desirable. Involvement in academic self-administration, including academic appointments, is expected.

The successful candidate should have a doctoral (Ph.D.) degree obtained preferably not more than 5 years ago and since then should have established further renowned scientific achievements.

Because of their underrepresentation in many departments at the University of Göttingen, applications from women are especially welcome and, all other factors being equal, will be given special consideration in these fields.

Physically challenged applicants will likewise be given priority over equally qualified, non-physically challenged applicants.

Part-time work is possible under certain circumstances.

Please send your application including a CV, an overview of scientific achievements, teaching experience, list of publications and future scientific goals before January 3, 2002 to
