Curriculum Vitae

I was born in 1990 in a small village in Friesland, Germany, and received my Abitur from the Lothar Meyer Gymnasium in Varel in 2010.

I studied Chemistry at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg from 2010 to 2015, followed by receiving my Ph.D. (summa cum laude) from the same university in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Rüdiger Beckhaus. The research during that time was heavily based in Coordination and Metalorganic Chemistry of Group 4 metals.

After spending some additional months in Oldenburg, finishing ongoing projects and working on obtaining initial independent results, I joined the group of Dr. Christian Hering-Junghans at the Leibniz Institut für Katalyse (LIKAT) in Rostock in 2020 as a postdoctoral researcher. The eight-month stay was focused on the versatile chemistry of low-valent phosphorus chemistry and further deepened my enthusiasm for the chemistry of main group elements.

Subsequently, I joined the group of Prof. Simon Aldridge at the University of Oxford, UK, in April 2021 as a Feodor-Lynen Fellow funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, working on the chemistry of heavier multiple bonded species and their specific use in small molecule activation.

In October 2022, I continued to work as an independent postdoctoral research associate at Universität Bremen, Germany, in the vicinity of Prof. Jens Beckmann before becoming an independent research group leader at the same university funded by a Liebig scholarship of the Fond der Chemischen Industrie.

Since April 2023, I have been a tenure-track Junior Professor at the Georg-August-Universität in beautiful Göttingen, where we started to explore unknown territories and all facettes of molecular main group and metal organic chemistry.
