Seo-Young Cho

Seo-Young Cho is post-doctoral researcher in Economics at the Georg-August-University of Goettingen in Germany. Her research fields include development, gender and institutional economics, with a focus of economic analysis on human trafficking and human rights. She worked on various projects with the United Nations Development Programme, the UNICEF (Child Trafficking and Labour Unit) and the International Rescue Committee (Anti-trafficking Initiatives) in New York. Seo-Young Cho received her PhD in Economics at the University of Goettingen and her master's degree in Public Administration and Policy at Columbia University in New York. Her recent work, Compliance with the Anti-trafficking Protocol, has been published in European Journal of Political Economy.



Axel Dreher

Axel Dreher is professor of Development Economics and International Economics at the University of Heidelberg and the University of Goettingen. Dreher has published numerous articles in refereed journals, among them the International Economic Review, Journal of Development Economics, International Organization, and the Journal of International Economics. He is Editor of the Review of International Organizations and is the author of the KOF Index of Globalization. Most of his current research is in the field of political economy, economic development, and globalization.



Eric Neumayer

Eric Neumayer is professor of Environment and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom. His research areas include evidence-based public polity, quantitative methods, asylum and migration, human rights, conflicts, sustainable development and economic geography. His academic articles have been published in various international journals such as International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, World Development and Journal of Peace Research. Eric Neumayer received his PhD in Development Studies at the LSE in 1999.

Jan van Dijk

Jan van Dijk is Professor in Criminology and currently holds the Pieter van Vollenhoven Chair in Victimology and Human Security at the University of Tilburg, The Netherlands (International Victimology Institute Tilburg). He is a member of the Group of Experts on Action against Human Trafficking of the Council of Europe. He supervised the International Crime Victim Survey's five subsequent rounds of implementation, covering over 70 countries in all world regions. Van Dijk is the author of The World of Crime; Breaking the Silence on Issues of Security, Justice and Development, published by SAGE Publications (2007). He was the co-founder and first chairperson of the National Organisation of Victim Assistance in The Netherlands (1984-1989) and the president of the World Society of Victimology (1997-2000).



Diego Hernandez

Diego Hernandez is a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Heidelberg. His research areas include political economy, development and economic analysis of human trafficking. He received his master’s degree from the Humboldt University in Berlin and a bachelor degree from the University of the Andes in Colombia during which he participated in an exchange program with Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His current research is in the project “Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings.”



Fanny Klerx-Van Mierlo

Fanny Klerx-Van Mierlo is a PhD candidate and researcher at INTERVICT, Tilburg University. Her research focuses on criminology, social psychology and Post-traumatic stress disorder. Her recent work on vulnerability factors in the explanation of workplace aggression has been published in The Journal of Forensic Psychology Practice (2011). She participates in the Project on Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings.



Alexandra Rudolph

Alexandra Rudolph is a PhD candidate at the chair of Development Economics and International Economics at the Alfred-Weber Institute at the University of Heidelberg. Her current research is in the project “Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings.” Her main research interests include development economics focused on the economic analysis of Human Trafficking, institutional environment, corruption and the shadow economy.



Maya Schmaljohann

Maya Schmaljohann is a PhD candidate at the chair of Development Economics and International Economics at the Alfred-Weber Institute for Economics at Heidelberg University. She holds a German Diploma in Economics from the University of Bayreuth. Her main research interests include development economics focused on resource rich countries, political economy, corruption and the shadow economy. Her research in the project “Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings” is on Human Trafficking and the shadow economy.



Krishna Chaitanya Vadlamannati

Krishna Chaitanya Vadlamannati is a PhD candidate at Chair of International Economics and Development Politics, Alfred-Weber-Institute for Economics. He obtained his MSc in Applied Economics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and bachelor of Commerce honors from India. His research interest include: social effects of globalization and market economic policy reforms, causes and consequences of civil conflicts and development politics. He participated in the Indexing Trafficking in Human Beings project where he and Seo-Young Cho examined the effects of the Anti-trafficking Protocol.
