The Chernobyl accident

1986-1987

Following the reactor accident at Chernobyl in April 26, 1986 the group of Prof. Ekkehard Recknagel and Dr. Gerhard Lindner at University Konstanz initiated measurements of environmental contamination due to the radioactive fall-out in southern Baden-Württemberg. At that time Ph.D student, I was involved in innumerable measurements of contaminated food, plants, air filters etc. I also held several public presentations on the impact and consequences of the reactor accident.
