At the Faculty of Agriculture of the Georg-August-University of Göttingen three time-limited positions (BAT I b) for young academics, that will lead to an appointment as

Junior Professor

are to be appointed as soon as possible in the fields of:



1. Marketing in Agribusiness

The main research and teaching areas are 'consumer behavior and food marketing', 'institutional buyer behavior in the agribusiness' and 'value chain management'. We are looking for an agricultural economist or a master of business administration experienced in quantitative research methods. In view of an increasing demand in food research and human capital of Lower Saxony's agribusiness companies experience in theory-practice-transfer and interdisciplinary cooperation is desired.


2. Applied Farm Management

The holder of the Professorship is to attend to issues of Applied Farm Management in research. In teaching, the Professorship contributes to the course program in the area of Economics and Social Sciences of Agriculture as well as Agribusiness. Exceptional competence is essential in the following fields:
General and Agricultural Accounting, General and Agricultural Tax Theory as well as Agricultural Evaluation Theory.

Employment conditions are an university degree in Economics and Social Sciences of Agriculture as well as an outstanding doctorate in the field of Agricultural Economics. The applicant should clearly demonstrate excellent research capabilities.

3. Process Engineering of Animal Husbandry:

The professor should primarily work in the fields of ‘engineering aspects of forage production’ as well as ‘environment and welfare friendly production systems for commercial stock, in particular ruminants’. This work covers tasks in research and teaching. The University of Göttingen is seeking a scientist, who is internationally renowned in the fields mentioned by a surpassing graduation as well as further scientific activities, in particular international publications. Specific knowledge in related disciplines, for example ruminant feeding, measurement of emissions, and evaluation of the environmental effects of production systems, are as necessary as experiences in the proposition, coordination and scientific realisation of research projects. Knowledge in the field of small ruminant husbandry would be most welcome.
A university degree in agricultural sciences as well as a surpassing Ph.D. in animal husbandry are required. Candidates should be renowned in research.

Because of their underrepresentation in many departments at the University of Göttingen, applications from women are especially welcome and, all other factors being equal, will be given special consideration in these fields.

Physically challenged applicants will likewise be given priority over equally qualified, non-physically challenged applicants.
