One Day with a Research Group on Sustainable Food

Have you ever wondered where your food comes from, why some foods are called sustainable, or what scientists actually do all day? And what does food have to do with building a future that is friendly for people and the planet? On Zukunftstag 2026, you can explore these questions and get a hands-on look into our Research Group on Sustainable Food Systems!

After a short introduction, you will explore the food systems through fun games and simple experiments. You will also get the chance to try out research yourself, with an own research experiment with a group of fellow researchers. You will take part in different activities and get to know different projects and topics that we work on.

The event is open to students in grades 5 to 9 and is all about discovering, asking questions, and being curious. We want to show you what it’s like being a researcher and having fun exploring! No specific prior knowledge or skillset is required, we look forward to meeting you!

  • The entire event will be held in English to accommodate students who feel more comfortable speaking English (or just want to put their English to practical use).

  • Max. number of participants: 20

  • Time: 09:00-13:00

  • Please register by writing an email to Mrs. Bukola Da-Silva (bukola.da-silva@uni-goettingen.de).
