Plasma X-ray Source

Here, the focussed Ti:Sa laser pulses generate plasma on a copper target, which produces short-pulsed X-rays at the characteristic lines of the target material. Using this technology, optical pump / X-ray probe experiments with a great can be realized, which are otherwise only possible at synchrotrons or linear accelerators.
