Göttingen's Christmas market 2008 - Attractiveness, catchment area and the social and demographic profile and spacial behaviour of its visitors

Project objectives: The Department of Human Geography conducted a survey to evaluate Göttingen's Christmas market 2008 on behalf of the municipal administration of the city of Göttingen and partially funded by Göttingen Tourismus e.V. The objectives were to identify potential improvements and enhancements and to assess reciprocal effects between the Christmas market and the retailers of the historic city center of Göttingen. For this purpose visitors of the Christmas market were asked to evaluate the Christmas market and were interviewed with regard to their place of residence, their social and demographic data and their activities at the Christmas market.
