Information about the compatibility of Office 2007 documents

If you want to edit Word-, Excel- and PowerPoint-files of Office 2007, you can open them as usual. The installed Microsoft Compatibility Pack 2007 takes care, that your documents of the 2007 type are converted automatically. The Microsoft Compatibility Pack 2007 supports the following file types:

Word 2007

  • Word-document(*.docx)
  • Word-document with macros (*.docm)



Excel 2007

  • Excel-Worksheet(*.xlsx)
  • Excel-Worksheet with macros (*.xlsm)
  • Excel-Binary Worksheet(*.xlsb)
  • Excel-Template(*.xltx)
  • Excel-Template with macros (*.xltm)
  • Excel-Add-In (*.xlam)



PowerPoint 2007

  • PowerPoint-Presentation(*.pptx)
  • PowerPoint-Presentation with macros(*.pptm)
  • PowerPoint-Template(*.potx)
  • PowerPoint-Template with macros (*.potm)
  • PowerPoint-Onscreen presentation (*.ppsx)
  • PowerPoint-Onscreen presentation with macros (*.ppsm)
