One-to-One mentoring for female postdoctoral researcher

A central feature of one-to-one mentoring is the discussions between mentees and mentors at regular intervals, approximately every 6-8 weeks. The mentors are professors at the University of Göttingen that are active in fields of research suited to the needs of the selected mentees. In self-organized meetings that generally last between 2-3 hours, mentees are given the opportunity to discuss their questions and problems in a supportive environment. The mentor shares valuable knowledge and experience with mentees, guiding them through professional and personal decision making processes. The collaboration with mentors takes place within a framework program (Dates see right column).

Training
A focal point of the training initiative is the professional and personal advancement of the mentees. This includes a five day intensive training seminar for postdoctoral researchers that is intended to promote peer networking among postdocs, strengthen mutual support and encourage further exchange (Dates see right column).

Networking
Within the framework of networking meetings and in cooperation with other institutions here at the University of Göttingen, the mentees will be provided with the opportunity to inform themselves on other topics that are career relevant and address questions pertaining to other spheres of life, including work-life balance (Dates see right column).
