Opening times during the holiday break
From Saturday, 24 December 2022 to Sunday, 1 January 2023, many University facilities will have a limited range of services or will be taking their winter break. During the holidays themselves, many shops in Göttingen will also be closed. You can find an overview of the changed opening hours and your options in this list.
Refectories and cafeterias
The Central Mensa, Café Central and Lunchbox will be closed from 24 December 2022 to 1 January 2023. The Mensa and Café am Turm will be open from 27 to 30 December 2022; both will take a break from 2 to 8 January 2023. All other cafeterias will be on winter break from 24 December 2022 to 8 January 2023.
IT hotline
Staff who have to work during the shutdown will not be able to use the IT Department's Service Desk during this period. The Service Desk will not be staffed from 12:00 noon on Friday 23 December 2022 until 07:00 on Monday 2 January 2023.
SUB and LSG
With the exception of the Central Library, the Learning and Study Building (LSG) and the Departmental Library of Medicine, all libraries will be closed from 24 December 2022 to 1 January 2023.
Opening hours of the Central Library, the Learning and Study Building (LSG) and the Departmental Library of Medicine: 27 to 30 December 2022 from 10:00 to 20:00.
The LRC information and advice desk is staffed from 13:00 to 16:00 on these days.
Orders from the stacks cannot be processed from 23 December 2022 to 2 January 2023.

Office of Student Affairs
The Service Office of the Central Office for Student Affairs will be closed from 23 December 2022, 13:00, up to and including 6 January 2023. The Infoline will be available for information in the first week of January from 2 to 5 January 2023 from 9:00 to 16:00 and on 6 January from 9:00 to 13:00 at telephone (0551) 39-113 or via e-mail infoline-studium@uni-goettingen.de.

Sports
There will be no university sports courses from 21 December 2022 to 8 January 2023 inclusive. University sports members can use the digital offer. The RoxX climbing centre and the Fiz fitness centre have restricted opening hours during winter break.
There are still places available in the children's school holiday sports camp "Winter week for children aged 6 and over" from 2 to 6 January 2023.

Campus Covid Screen (CCS)
The Winter break of our Campus Covid Screen (CCS) lasts from 22 December 2022 to 6 January 2023 at both locations. You will not be able to get tested there during this time.
