Advantages for PhD-students

Young academic teachers have the opportunity to first gain teaching experience and learn about tips and tricks on how to deal with groups of students, lead discussions and prepare lectures with their experienced team partners.

In addition, young academic teachers receive a free, complementary qualification in higher education didactics by working in a fixed group and by gaining practical experience and insight into theoretic and scientific fundamentals of teaching and learning. At the same time, they have the opportunity to reflect their own teaching practice.

For the successful participation in the Team Teaching-Program – i.e. the teaching experience as well as the complementary qualification upgrade – young teachers receive a certificate for their CV which is accepted in many doctoral programs.
Furthermore, the program is designed to reward the PhD-students for their teaching activities by paying them 50% of the normal remuneration of a lectureship.
