    Thesis title: Burying the gods: depositing statues in Late Antiquity (adv. Prof. Roger S. Bagnall);

  • 1998-1999 Foreign exchange student at Duke University, Durham, NC;

  • 1996-2000 BA from the Faculty of History, the University of Bucharest, Romania
    BA thesis: Public benefactors in the Greek cities of the Western Pontus. Published in 2001.


    • Grants and Extracurricular Positions

  • Initiator and co-president of Centrul Vegetius – an initiative designed to promote Ancient and Medieval Military History among university students (2008-2009)

  • Research grants from the Lodge, the Tianaderrah and the Melon foundations, for the archeological survey or rock-cut monasteries in the North-Eastern Balkans (2005-2008)

  • Vice-president of the ‘Erasmus’ Student Organization, part of the International Students of History Association (1997-1998)

  • 1 year exchange student fellowship from the Soros Foundation (OSI) at Duke University (1998-1999)

  • 4 weeks grant from the University of Sidney for the excavation at Nea Pahos, Cyprus (1997)
