Herbivory and its effects on tree growth and tree survival in an enrichment planting experiment in Jambi, Sumatra

In the framework of the B11 biodiversity enrichment experiment, Jennifer will carry out her master thesis. Her focus is on herbivory and its effect on growth and survival the trees that were planted on the experimental plots. She will quantify the specific herbivory on all planted trees in order to find correlations between the plot size and/or diversity level of the trees with herbivory. Furthermore, the amount of leaf components (such as carbon or nitrogen) for each tree species are determined. The obtained data will be used to see whether or not herbivory affects the growth of a tree species.
