IT supported succession management in organizations
Organizations employ succession management for a targeted development of employees so that skill shortages can be counteracted and the competitiveness of the organization can be ensured. Nonetheless, there is only few support through information systems (IS) within the organizations, as existing IS don't meet practitioners requirements.
Thus, the Chair of Application Systems and E-Business at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen examined how IS must be designed according to practitioners needs. These requirements were used to inform the development of two prototypes which support managers and HR professionals by providing decision-relevant information.
The Chair of Application Systems and E-Business presents the project at the CeBIT 2016 from March 14th to 18th. There, interested organizations can inform themselves about possibilities of IT supported succession management and take a look at the developed prototypes.
