The II. Institute of Physics send their best wishes for the 25th anniversary of the ATLAS collaboration:

Group of Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian Hofsäss

AG Hofsäss IconIon Beam, Thin Film and Nuclear Solid State Physics
Ion-beam techniques are indispensable today, whether they are employed in manufacturing new microelectronic modules, in the coating of surfaces, in manufacturing and analysis of materials, works of art, archaeological objects and biological samples or in medical therapy.

Group of Prof. Dr. Stan Lai

AG Lai IconExploring the Higgs Sector with the ATLAS Experiment
The Higgs sector lies at the heart of the Standard Model and allows us to understand how elementary particles acquire their mass. Working with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, our working group is deeply involved with detailed investigations of the Higgs sector: through precision measurements of the Higgs boson and in searches for additional Higgs bosons that would indicate an extended Higgs sector beyond the Standard Model.

Group of Prof. Dr. Arnulf Quadt

AG Quadt IconElementary Particle Physics in pp Collisions with the ATLAS Experiment
Particle physics is the study of nature at the most fundamental level. In particular, the properties of elementary particles and their fundamental interactions are investigated extensively. Our working group is involved with developing state-of-the-art pixel detectors, grid computing, and data analysis of physics processes involving top quarks, Higgs bosons and other processes of the Standard Model with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
