Der b-Quark-Sektor bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten, wichtige Parameter des Standardmodells zu studieren und ermöglicht die Dominanz von Materie über Antimaterie in unserem Universum zu studieren. Solche Präzisionsmessungen sind mithilfe der "b-Fabriken" möglich, so wie das Belle-Experiment am KEK Laboratorium in Japan, an welchem wir uns beteiligen. Dabei beteiligen wir uns unter anderem an der Entwicklung eines DPFET-Pixeldetektors.

The Higgs sector lies at the heart of the Standard Model and allows us to understand how elementary particles acquire their mass. Working with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, our working group is deeply involved with detailed investigations of the Higgs sector: through precision measurements of the Higgs boson and in searches for additional Higgs bosons that would indicate an extended Higgs sector beyond the Standard Model.

Particle physics is the study of nature at the most fundamental level. In particular, the properties of elementary particles and their fundamental interactions are investigated extensively. Our working group is involved with developing state-of-the-art pixel detectors, grid computing, and data analysis of physics processes involving top quarks, Higgs bosons and other processes of the Standard Model with the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
