The "Expansion of soybean production in Germany by breeding for adaptation and by improved cropping and processing methods" was the aim of a consortium funded by BMELV - BÖLN. Cooperation with Landwirtschaftliches Technologiezentrum Augustenberg, Sojaförderring, Fachhochschule Osnabrück, Forschungsinstitut für biologischen Landbau D and CH, Julius Kühn-Institut, Life Food GmbH, Naturland e.V., Universität Hohenheim, Landessaatzuchtanstalt; Universität Kassel, Fachgebiet Ökologischer Land- und Pflanzenbau. Associated partners: Agroscope Changins-Wädenswil; Universität für Bodenkultur Vienna; Pflanzenzucht Oberlimpurg.

In Göttingen a system for the selection for weed tolerance was developed and frost tolerance was investigated.
