Praveen Verma

Praveen Verma is a historian who is interested in the question of caste, dominance assertion and law. In his thesis, he is looking at the assertion of caste dominance in Punjab/Haryana and its engagement with law during 1900-2000s. Praveen is interested in looking at how the non-state legal sphere contributes to the dominant claim-making processes and the reproduction of marginality. Apart from that, he is also a development consultant working on the issue of international worker migration in the garment sector. While at CeMIS he will be working on his PhD chapter drafts and looks forward to sharing his research with the scholars and faculty.
